It is Tuesday, March 11, 2014. We are up at 4:30 a.m. After loading the refrigerator food and making a few rearrangements in the compartments, we depart our Lake Michigan home we have been renting since November 26, 2013. What a blessing! Thank you, Wayne and Cori. The weather is good and traffic is light as we travel on 31 south towards Indianapolis. Our destination is Fall Creek Falls State Park in Pikeville, Tennessee. We selected this park because it has full hook-ups (we need to familiarize ourselves with all the functions of motorhome living) and it has the highest waterfall east of the Rockies so we could also get out for some good hikes. We made a stop at one of our favorite food stores, Trader Joe's, southeast of Indianapolis. Shortly after getting back on the road, we made a stop for diesel fuel....then back on the road. Nineteen miles after getting diesel, the motorhome starting losing acceleration. We quickly exited and pulled into a Cracker Barrel parking lot, contacted Mercedes, who arranged for a tow truck, and had breakfast while we waited. The tow truck arrived (the driver was so considerate and careful....thank you, Jim) and towed us to Stoops. We left the motorhome there, checked into a motel, and waited for a call. At midnight, the call came....they had to replace the fuel valve....also, they took care of a recall and updated the electronics. Se we escaped the Michigan snow, but not the Indianapolis snow. On Wednesday morning we picked up the motorhome and decided to stay put here for one more night to sit out the snow and high wind warnings.
