North Carolina

November 15-23, 2014:  We traveled from Tennesee across North Carolina to the small town of Four Oaks.  After mostly one night stops since we left Michigan, we decided to stay here for a week.  The Raleigh Oaks RV Park and Resort is a new facility.  We were ready for some "at home" days.  Chuck has been enjoying the billiards room.  We discovered that the Civil War Bentonville Battlefield was nearby so we visited it.  It was the last major battle before the South surrendered.

This was the Harper family home on the historic Bentonville Battlefield.  It was used as a surgery by the Union army during the battle.  The family assisted in the care of soldiers from both sides.  The small wooden building to the left of the house was the kitchen.  Near there was one of two wells on the property.  The wooden structure to the far left was the house for the family's three slaves.

Kentucky to Tennessee

November 14, 2014:  We drove from Lexington to Sevierville for one night at Riverside RV Resort.  Before leaving on Saturday morning we met Jan and Bob, a couple we met last year on our first stop at Fall Creek Falls, for breakfast.  It is such a great blessing to meet with friends along our journey.  The mountainous drive provided great views of fall colors and icicled rock walls.

Kentucky Horse Park

November 13, 2014:  We stopped for one night at the Kentucky Horse Park Campground.  It was cold, but beautiful!

Winton Woods Park Campground

November 10-13, 2014:  Our first stop after leaving Michigan was on the north side of Cincinnati, Ohio.  We stayed at the Winton Woods Park Campground.  It is a nice park with miles of walking and biking paths.  We enjoyed the signs of Autumn on our tours along the paths.  

Lenox, Michigan

November 6-10, 2014:  We spent a few days at Leeah's house before heading south.  She examined Skip and prescribed meds and a supplement for him.  He hurt his leg exiting the motorhome, but has improved.  Our time with Leeah included welcoming a new litter of goldens, a visit to her veterinary clinic, and shopping. 

                                   Skip enjoyed his spacious surroundings!

Last Night

November 5, 2014:  We stayed at my brother's house our last night in town.  It was a great blessing to spend our last day there.

Our Last Week in Michigan

October 27-November 5, 2014:  We moved to Shamrock Park on the St. Joseph River in Berrien Springs.  The other parks in the area were closed for the season.  It was great visiting with family and friends and returning to our home church for worship and Bible study.  We have missed it and truly felt home again!
